We are now seeking a Clerical Assistant to join our school team. Hours are 8.30am to 3.20pm Monday to Thursday and 8.30am to 12.15pm on a Friday. 

St Nicholas Primary School is a denominational school which provides for nursery children and stages P1-P7 with a current roll of 393 and 65 in the nursery.   Its catchment area caters for children living in Broxburn, Uphall, Uphall Station and Dechmont. 

St Nicholas Primary School is an integral part of the local community both educationally and socially. There are active and effective Parish/ Community links through St. John Cantius and St Nicholas RC Church in Broxburn. Strong links also exist with Sinclair Academy, Winchburgh and the cluster primary schools.

The school management team is made up of a HT, DHT and PT. Nursery classes are supported by Early Years Officers and Early Years Practitioners. The rest of the staffing is comprised of teachers including music and PE specialists, Pupil Support Workers as well as admin and clerical staff.

The school runs a very successful breakfast club and provides after school clubs at various times throughout the year.

Distributed leadership is promoted across the whole staff. Staff demonstrates strong collegiality and teamwork which maintains the positive climate for learning in the school.

The school works closely with the Parent Council, local parish and wider community.

This post is considered Regulated Work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scotland Act 2007. From 28 February 2011 preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer of employment being made by West Lothian Council
