What’s in it for You? Help transform lives like R’s.
My name is R. I am 16 years old. I am autistic and have a learning disability. I struggle with making positive friendships, and I can at times struggle with communicating my needs and wants in a way that other people understand. If you are supporting me, I will need you to be non-judgemental and understanding of my needs, and to be able to support me with meeting new people and making positive relationships with my peers.
I enjoy outdoor activities and swimming, and I love to listen to music and dance! It is important to me that we do some really fun activities that I enjoy while you are helping me build my independent living skills.
Our Muirfield Outreach & Muirfield Place Services based in the Kilwinning area of North Ayrshire, are dedicated support services designed for children and young people with additional support needs in North and East Ayrshire. We are looking to recruit Relief Childcare Practitioners who are motivated, creative and enthusiastic with the ability to deliver high quality care and support. Through the application of person-centred approaches, the successful candidates will provide invaluable support to children/young people and their families, promoting positive outcomes. The service operates flexibly and is responsive to the needs of the young people we support. Shifts will include evenings and weekends, therefore flexibility with regards to working patterns is essential. Working knowledge of current legislation including GIRFEC, SHANARRI well-being outcomes and the Curriculum for Excellence is desirable and should be demonstrated through service delivery and support planning.
