Common Thread are looking to employ a Childcare House Manager in our Inverness based house.

As a Registered Childcare Manager you will have overall responsibility for the day to day running of the Home in line with policies and procedures, Care Inspectorate requirements and Local Authorities’ expectations. You will also be expected to take on call responsibilities when required.

Over and above qualifications and experience we are particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate a proven track record in supporting young people to achieve the highest possible outcomes through therapeutic and creative practice.

Job:

  • Location: Inverness.
  • Minimum 2 years experience within a children residential home within the last 5 years.
  • At least 2 years experience of supervising and managing professional staff - equivalent of Senior Residential Childcare Worker would be the minimum requirement.
  • Hours: 40 hours full time. Flexibility required. Weekend work required.

Essential Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

  • Excellent knowledge of legislative requirements in Children’s homes in line with the Care Inspectorate regulations.
  • Demonstrable experience of ensuring resdiential home meet and maintain the highest standards and promote safeguarding and the welfare of children and young people at all times.
  • Extensive experience of working with children with challenging and emotional behaviour in a residential care setting.
  • Experience in staff supervision and development.
  • Experience of budget management and change management.
  • Proven ability to establish, maintain and support an excellent, motivated and competent team of staff.
