Family Support Worker (Glasgow)

The Family Support Worker will provide early intervention and intensive family support to achieve improved outcomes for children and families. The family support work is designed to develop strategies for growth which respond to identified needs for individual families. This work is carried out within the context of the Promise, Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) – Wellbeing Indicators and the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.

The successful candidate will have Insight, understanding and empathy towards the needs of parents and an ability to understand and support parents in a non-judgemental way.

A Qualification in Social Work; Community work; minimum SVQ3 Social Services (Children and Young People) or equivalent qualification and 2 years proven experience of working with parents in a community setting is essential for this post.
