An amazing opportunity has arisen to work with a dynamic Social Work Team in one of Scotland’s most beautiful landscapes.

As one of the largest local authority areas in Scotland, the Health and Social Care Partnerships aims to promote social welfare and provide effective care and support to meet the assessed needs of individuals in Argyll and Bute.

This exciting opening to join our dedicated Social Work Team (Adult Community Care Team), working across the Cowal Peninsula, you will be responsible for undertaking both community and permanent care reviews to ensure that assessed need is identified and people’s supports are aligned appropriately with our Priority of Need Framework.

You will have a good understanding of the current health and social care landscape; self-directed support; the value of outcomes focussed supports for people to enable them to live in their communities and recognise the value of forming effective relationships with other professionals and agencies.

At this time the HSCP would welcome applications from highly motivated experienced qualified Social Workers.

The service promotes the ability for staff to work in a Hybrid manner between our Office base and home working, however, it remains essential the needs of the service can be met.

Working out of our base in Dunoon the aim of the Cowal Adult Community Care Team is to promote social welfare and where assessed provide effective care and support to meet the needs of vulnerable people.

In partnership with the community resource team, health colleagues and various third sector agencies, we strive to offer a range of services designed to enable, support, improve and protect the health and social care of people using our services.

You will provide an effective assessment and care management service incorporating any relevant statutory duties. You will undertake casework involving partnership working and provide professional advice and guidance to individuals, families and groups within the community. This role requires the successful candidate to provide out of hours support on a rota basis.

You should have excellent written and verbal communication skills to complete all formal, informal reports and case notes which need to be of a high standard. In addition, you should be able to demonstrate an ability to relate to people of all ages and backgrounds and be able to gain their trust to help them get the best from our services.

You should be able to deal with a variety of situations where your tact, patience and understanding will be needed. You will need to assess and cope with these situations in a sensitive and non-judgmental way.

All applicants must be registered or in the process of registering with Scottish Social Services Council and hold a DipSW or CQSW or Honors Degree in Social Work or Post Graduate in Social Work.
