St. John Vianney RC Primary School

Salary: £68,892 (subject to job sizing)
Hours: 35 per week

Due to the successful promotion of our DHT to the role of Head Teacher at St Andrew's Fox Covert RC PS, St John Vianney RC Primary School are recruiting a new permanent DHT. The successful candidate will be an excellent classroom practitioner and ideally have management knowledge/experience. They will be able to demonstrate excellent knowledge and understanding of school improvement strategies.

St John Vianney RC Primary School is organised into 10 classes from P1-P7 with a current school roll of 270, in addition to a new Early Learning Centre with capacity for 128 pupils. We have an excellent, supportive and highly self-evaluative staff who play an active role in the direction the school takes. While we are a Catholic school, we accept people of all faiths, celebrating the diversity and culture these bring to us. Our school is very multi-cultural, with over 40 languages/countries celebrated across our community. All these factors play a significant influence in our very positive school culture and ethos.

The school leadership team consists of a Head Teacher, Depute Head Teacher, Principal Teacher and a Business Manager. Staff at all levels lead developments across the school. The community is ably supported by a great team made up of School Administrator, Clerical Assistant, Service Support Officer and 10 Pupil Support Assistants. Our Place2Be project form a significant part of our school.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
