£90,887 - £95,535 per annum, inclusive of £2,859 per annum Distant Islands Allowance

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar is looking for a Chief Financial Officer with energy, drive and total commitment to securing the best use of our resources, and managing our finances strategically and effectively. You will require good political knowledge and awareness, and have a strong commitment to good governance and accountability.

You will be located in one of the most beautiful settings in which to live and work in Scotland. It is essential you have an understanding of the legislative framework of local government with a clear grasp of the major financial issues facing local government.

You will have a consistent record of successful resource management and achievement in a leadership role. It is essential that you have the ability to analyse complex issues and situations, providing logical decisions, and reconciling competing interests, providing practical and creative solutions to problems through collaborative working and be able to evidence this.

You will be educated to degree level or equivalent and have a professional qualification in accountancy to allow you to meet the requirements of S.95 Officer.

Relocation support is available.

Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
