£36,966 - £40,824 per annum, inclusive of £2,742 Distant Islands Allowance per annum
The post holder will be required to assist the Management Information Systems (MIS) Manager with the development, administration and operation of service information systems and to facilitate effective usage and sharing of information within and between the Education and Children's Services Department, Schools, Scottish Government and partner agencies in line with local and Scottish Government data sharing requirements.
Duties will include systems administration of departmental information systems including management information systems, local and Scottish Government data collation, Digital learning platforms, parental SMS contact software and bespoke information systems; managing access to and security of information systems and eLearning platforms in schools and the Department of Education and Children’s Services; providing user support and developing new queries/reports using the Department’s and Comhairle’s Business Intelligence tools; and evaluating new software, new versions of existing software and the compilation of reports on its potential use within the service.
You must have advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 and Teams along with a working knowledge of programming concepts, database design and query writing (e.g. SQL). The ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative, prioritise tasks and meet deadlines is essential. Excellent numeracy and IT skills are required along with good oral and written communication skills.
It is essential that you are educated to degree level in an ICT related discipline.
This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
Salary for the above post is inclusive of Distant Islands Allowance. Appointment to the post will be on the first point of the grade.
