Job Description

Leisure & Culture Dundee is a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SCIO) SC042421. It was established by Dundee City Council in July 2011 to deliver leisure, sports, library, information and cultural services for the city. www.leisureandculturedundee.com We have a range of exciting opportunities to join our vibrant Football Development coaching team, leading the delivery of sports opportunities across the city. We are currently seeking to recruit Lead Football Coaches to lead sessions within our primary programme (5-12yrs). Classes run Monday to Saturday at various times, 39 weeks per year. There are a variety of hours available. When work is available you will be contacted. There is no obligation for Leisure & Culture Dundee to offer you work, nor are you obliged to accept work. The rate of pay is £12.96 per hour

Requirements

You will hold a Scottish FA ‘Children’s Coaching Certificate’ (Level 1.2)

Responsibilities

As part of a dynamic Leisure and Sport section, you will lead in the delivery of the Football Development programmes on behalf of Leisure & Culture Dundee, coaching to a variety of individuals and groups, whilst adhering, where relevant, to Scottish Governing Body (SGB) guidelines and specified coach to participant ratios.

The Individual

The post holder should hold the Scottish FA’s Level 1.2 Children’s Coaching Certificate and have experience in leading sports coaching sessions and have worked with children from a variety of backgrounds in a physical activity setting. Additionally, the individual should have excellent organisational and planning skills, the ability to work on their own or as part of a team, a strong sense of self-motivation and the ability to communicate effectively. Finally, the selected candidate must be willing to work flexible hours including weekend work where required; must be willing to undertake personal development and have the ability to motivate and enthuse others. This post is considered Regulated Work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to work being offered by Leisure & Culture Dundee.
