Job Summary

This post is only available to all permanent and temporary employees and agency workers currently on assignment within East Dunbartonshire Council.

This role requires the successful candidate to engage with key relationships across the Education Service; Quality Improvement Managers and Officers; Head Teachers, schools and centres; external agencies and partners, including the Attainment Advisor and colleagues in local authorities and regional improvement collaboratives. Within the context of the Strategic Equity Funding, this role will be responsible for developing a Broad General Education Monitoring and Tracking system for all sectors, Early Years, Primary, Secondary and ASN schools that is managed centrally. In addition, the role will also develop enhanced analysis tools for both SQA and Insight data to support attainment visits and quality reviews, including reporting on performance management linked to Scottish Equity Funding. The successful candidate will support the Education Service implement early interventions programmes for young people impacted by poverty and additional barriers to learning to provide tailored support across all schools and centres. As part of the Central Education Team, the role has accountability for the delivery of Education Service and School Improvement Objectives. The successful candidate will work flexibly with other team members to share best practice and where appropriate, share resources to achieve service level priorities. On a day-to-day basis, the post holder will be required to use initiative to progress day-to-day activities. Highly complex issues will be referred to the Quality Improvement Manager – Secondary & Provision.

PVG / Disclosure Scotland

Where the post you are applying for is considered Regulated Work under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007, successful candidates will be required to join the PVG Scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check, prior to confirmation of employment being made by East Dunbartonshire Council.

Please note, successful candidates will be expected to meet the cost of the relevant check which will be deducted from the successful candidate’s first salary payment.

In specific circumstances the payment could be deducted in instalments from an employee’s wages following commencement of employment. Approval in such circumstances will be made by HR Services Lead.

Should an employee leave in advance of the payment being deducted, the full amount will be deducted from the employee’s final salary.

The criteria outlined above will apply to existing employees of East Dunbartonshire Council who apply for roles for which a PVG/Disclosure check is required.
