Job Details
The postholder will lead and manage a team of technical staff to compile and maintain the Valuation Roll and Council Tax Valuation List for a particular area of Fife. The role will be the Service wide lead for a range of non- domestic property categories throughout Fife. The role will also be the Service lead for a variety of Service policies and procedures and will provide the necessary leadership and vision to support change and improvement throughout the Service.
The role is a Statutory Depute Assessor appointed in terms of Section 27 of the Local Government etc. (Scotland) Act 1994.
As a progressive employer, we offer the opportunity to work in this role as a “blended working” arrangement with home-working opportunities and occasional office-working as required. While the significant part of the role can and will be carried out remotely, candidates should be able to travel to and attend office locations in Fife as required.
The Person
The postholder must:
- Be a full professional member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (M.R.I.C.S.)
- Be educated to SCQF level 9, which includes a degree or equivalent.
- Be familiar with interpretation and application of legislation and case law as it relates to the functions of the Assessor Service.
- Have experience of working in an Assessor’s Service or equivalent environment.
Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
We are currently shaping our future workstyles however, in light of current advice, we are introducing blended home/office working that will include office access days each week with homeworking for the remainder of your working time.
