Job Description

Role – Administrative Assistant (Complaints, FOI and Investigation Team)
Location – GCHSCP, Commonwealth House, 32 Albion Street, Glasgow, G1 1LH
Contract Status – Temporary, up to 18 months

We are pleased to be able to offer an opportunity to work for the largest local authority in Scotland, in partnership with the NHS, to help support the data rights of our service users, past and present.

The Complaints, Freedom of Information (FOI) and Investigations Team (CFIT) within the Business Development section of Glasgow City Health and Social Care Partnership (GCHSCP) handle complaints administration and responses, FOI responses and duties under the Data Protection Act 2018, including providing guidance to the wider business in relation to Data Protection matters.

We are seeking a driven individual to support a new temporary specialist team within CFIT for up to 18 months. Applicants must have previous administration experience, good literacy/numeracy skills, good communication/organisational skills, and a working knowledge of software packages such Microsoft Office, although full training will be provided in relation to service specific software and hardware applications. 

Applicants must be able to plan, organise and complete allocated work within specific deadlines. Applicants will be expected to work well as part of a team and deputise in the absence of senior managers in relation to prioritisation of tasks and allocation of work. Applicants must demonstrate a flexible approach to the needs of the service. 

Key Responsibilities:
Carrying out key administrative activities to support the complex data processing activity in line with statutory requirements, including the location, collation and preparation of sensitive documents.
Ensuring the confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
Engaging in practical data processing work that supports the team to deliver services to vulnerable individuals.

This role is well-suited for someone who is eager to learn about Social Work and/or data protection. You'll be a key support to a specialist team dedicated to ensuring the rights of those with current or previous involvement with Social Work Services, and will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience and knowledge in a fast-paced environment. You will also have the opportunity to contribute directly to meaningful work that can have a positive impact on the lives of service users past and present.

These roles are excepted under Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exclusions and Exceptions) (Scotland) Order 2013 (as amended).

Interviews will take place week commencing 2nd June 2025.
