Post Title: Data Governance Officer
Location: Inverness
Hours: 35 hours per week
Duration: Fixed Term – Two Years
Salary: HC7 £34,034 - £38,056 p.a.
Salary placing will normally be at the first point of the scale.

Job Purpose: To contribute to the development of the Data Governance Framework which incorporates data governance standards, data quality processes, records management, and compliance with data security standards, data protection legislation and access to information legislation. To advise Council services on effective data management and assist with establishing the Council as a centre of excellence in data management. To advise Services on aspects of compliance with legislation and corporate policies.
This post is part of the Data Foundations Project, a key project in the Highland Council Delivery Plan 2024-2027. Data Foundations seeks to put in place the people, processes and technology that will better enable the Council to make data led decisions. A key benefit from this project will be the ability to link data from across the Council, and the tools needed to ensure that data is accurate and reliable. This will enable the Business Intelligence reporting we need to successfully realise our ambitious vision for the future.
This post is suitable for hybrid working with an expectation that the post holder will be, on average, physically present in the office 3 days per week to be able to effectively carry out the requirements of the role.
