Head Janitor

37 hours per week

£29,443 - £30,041 / £15.26 - £15.57 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated, versatile person with good communication and organisational skills, to lead our janitorial team. You should have experience of carrying out routine general maintenance with a commitment to a high standard of working and a good understanding of security issues.

This post will offer a variety of challenges with the main duty being to ensure that the school buildings and grounds are well maintained, secure and safe.

You should hold a qualification at SCQF 4/5 i.e., SVQ1, SVQ2, Standard Grades, National 4, National 5, Intermediate 1, Intermediate 2, O Grades or have a minimum of 1 year’s previous relevant experience.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
