Relief Vocational Instructor (First Aid/Health)

Hours are offered on an as and when required basis
£19.70 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)

UHI Orkney is seeking applications from suitably qualified and experienced persons in the area of first aid. Hours are offered on an as and when required basis.

The post will involve delivery of one and two day first aid courses within the College’s short course programme, and hours will vary dependent on demand for these.

Applicants must be educated to at least HNC or an equivalent SCQF level 6 qualification in a relevant subject area and have experience of instructing others within this subject area. L+D9D1 assessor award and L+D11 verifier award, or equivalent, are also essential and, where not held, must be achieved within 12 months of appointment.

Recent experience of working in relevant settings is essential, and current or previously held Nursing & Midwifery Council registration would be beneficial.

You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.

This post is subject to membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme in respect of regulated work with children.
