An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Property and Capital Projects Service for a Team Manager to lead the Architectural team.
We are looking for an experienced professional with Architectural, Design and Project Management skills.
The post also requires extensive professional experience in construction, contract management, along with working in a team environment.

Reporting to the Service Manager you will manage the day-to-day workload of the Architectural team and will be responsible for the execution of allocated projects from early inception to completion by carrying out the full range of professional duties associated with undertaking construction projects.
You should be able to demonstrate the full range of professional duties associated with Architecture and Design with a good understanding of construction detailing, materials specification, contract administration and project management together with an understanding of contract issues and CDM Regulations.
You will be an enthusiastic customer focused individual that continually seeks ways to improve all aspects of our service delivery model and actively supports colleagues to implement changes to policies and working practices.
The minimum knowledge required for this role can be evidenced by either: Holding a qualification at SCQF 8/9 i.e. SVQ4, HND, General Degree, Higher Apprenticeship, Technical Apprenticeship in Architecture, Architectural Technology or Urban Design, Or Having a minimum of 5 years previous relevant experience, as detailed in the experience section of this person specification.
A Full Chartered membership of the RIBA, RIAS or CIAT and CSCS site safety cardholder are also essential, as well as Evidence of continuing professional development.
The postholder will be eligible to join the Local Government Pension Scheme, which is a career average revalued earnings (CARE), defined benefit scheme.
You should be able to travel efficiently and effectively between various work locations within Orkney to meet the operational requirements of the Service.
