The Housing Asset & Investment Team has responsibility of the asset management of over 12,000 properties. An opportunity has arisen, and we are seeking to recruit a Repairs & Maintenance Co-ordinator, who will assist in the delivery & improvement of the repairs and maintenance service.

 

You will provide support to the Housing Repairs Manager on the implementation of the Council’s repairs and maintenance strategy. You will assist in the effective delivery of the repairs service to Council tenants and owner occupiers, through various contractors, including our in-house maintenance provider.

 

The main duties of the post include managing staff who diagnose repair and maintenance issues and instruct repairs in line with the policy. You will be required to deal with customers in their own home and/ or by telephone to diagnose and resolve complex repair/ maintenance issues. Deal with elected members, customer enquiries & complaints in line with Council policy, ensuring target timescales are met.You will also contribute to both performance monitoring and service development processes, to ensure the delivery of a high quality, customer focused repairs and maintenance service.

 

It is essential you have experience of working in a housing repairs/ maintenance/ or investment role delivering a responsive repairs service and/ or capital investment programmes.

 

You must have experience of dealing with the public in the field and in an interview situation either face to face, or, in their own home. You will Effective verbal and written communication skills and able to communicate at all levels.

 

You will have knowledge of standards of workmanship, of all trades involved in the repairs process and knowledge of relevant Housing legislation including the Tenements Scotland Act 2004.

 

Knowledge of various Health and Safety Regulations, which relate to the construction industry and analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills are desirable.

 

IT Skills, demonstratable leadership skills with the ability to motivate others, work on your own initiative in a busy team environment managing your own workload aswell as the ability to work in a changing environment to tight deadlines and under pressure is also essential.

 

You must be able to attend meetings or events out of hours, as required.

 

A full current driving licence is desirable.
