Role Purpose
The Estates Strategy Team is looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic surveyor to join us in managing and developing our diverse land and property estate. Reporting to the Estates Strategy Manager you will be responsible for advising on all aspects of estate and asset management including supporting the estate rationalisation programme and developing a fit for future estate. A Career Pathway may be considered from applicants who do not meet the essential criteria but who have some rural or commercial estates management experience. A part time role may be considered for the right candidate.
Essential
Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors or other equivalent professional qualification or substantial relevant experience.
For this role the Council may offer a Career Pathway dedicated to fostering professional development. Applications may be considered from those who do not meet the essential criteria but who have some rural or commercial estates management experience, demonstrate a genuine interest and are willingness to embark on a rewarding career journey. This would allow you to join our team and work through a career pathway from your current set of skills, knowledge, and experience to one that matches the original essential criteria of the advertised job whilst working for the Council. A Career Pathway appointment would be dependent on the applicants’ current skills, knowledge, and experience and an appropriate Grade will be applied in the meantime.
A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role
