Role Purpose
Are you looking for a job in HR Administration where you will be kept busy and be part of a team who are responsible for administering the payroll process for Scottish Borders Council, then this is the job for you.
The HR Shared Services team are responsible for the administration of recruitment, payroll, employee benefits and pensions. While this role will be focused on processing payroll and answering calls and emails you will be exposed to and gain knowledge in all of these functional areas for the Council.
You will be processing timesheets and expenses claims for current employees ensuring these are processed in line with current legislation, working closely with colleagues in the other functional areas. We are always on the look out for new and innovative ways of working and you can play your part in this as the Council looks to adopt a digital first approach.
Training will be provided by our existing team members and then you will be able to pick up this role and start answering the varied and interesting calls and queries the Helpdesk team receive each day from employees.
Essential
HNC in a relevant discipline or extended period of processing experience in one or more relevant functional areas.
Experience of working in a high volume, deadline driven customer service environment
