Role Purpose

We are a statutory children and families social work team operating in the West of Scottish Borders. We work out of a Peebles office and a Galashiels office. We are a supportive and friendly team of social workers and social work assistants who are both welcoming and enthusiastic about the roles we undertake and the support we offer. The Social Work Assistant job is a fantastic opportunity for a person seeking a role within social work who is motivated to make a difference to the lives of children and their families.

Essential

HNC/SVQ 3 in Social Care or Childcare and Education OR considerable experience and a commitment to undertake such training A current driving licence and use of a vehicle is an essential requirement of this post. * If you have a disability which precludes you from holding a drivers licence, Scottish Borders Council will take into account its responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to allow for your disability. Should it be possible to make such an adjustment in order that you can undertake the travel responsibilities of the post, this will be taken into account in consideration for this role.
