The position of Support for Learning Assistant requires an individual who can interact well with young people, including those with additional support needs, and colleagues across the school. The ability to work as part of a team is essential as is demonstrating excellent organisational skills, sensitivity and patience.
The provision of Support for Learning Assistant is coordinated by the Depute Head Teacher. The work of the Support for Learning Assistant (SLA) is managed on a day-to-day basis by the Principal Teacher ASN. The duties associated with this post will predominantly lie in working with secondary age pupils and you will work closely with teachers to support the learning of young people.The ideal candidate will have previous experience of working with secondary pupils with additional support needs and have an excellent knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
