People Services lead on all HR aspects for the University in addition to supporting organisational development, staff development, Equality and Diversity and Health and Safety. The department is made up of various teams and the People Services Employee Relations (ER) Casework Advisor will play a key role within the ER team.

We are looking for two proactive and experienced Employee Relations Casework Advisors to join our dynamic People Services team. In these roles, you will provide expert guidance to managers, staff, and academic leaders, ensuring compliance with university policies, procedures, and employment legislation. You will manage complex employee relations cases, foster a positive working environment, and promote best practices in conflict resolution, performance management, and employee engagement.

You will work closely with the Employee Relations Manager to deliver strategic advice, resolve conflicts, and support the development and review of policies. This role involves advising on employee relations matters, designing and delivering training, analysing data trends, and preparing reports for senior leaders. Additionally, you will collaborate with other People Services teams and union representatives, support employee well-being initiatives, and assist in managing organisational change.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in employee relations, a strong understanding of employment law, and the ability to handle complex cases. You should be an excellent communicator, able to work independently and collaboratively, and have experience in coaching and training managers. Union experience is highly desirable.
