Work Based Assessor – Automotive Accident Repair

Our Department of Automotive Studies is currently looking for an individual with the passion for developing people working towards Modern Apprenticeships, Scottish Vocational Qualifications (SVQ’s) and IMI Accreditations within the automotive accident repair sector.
You will support a range of individuals inspiring them to succeed throughout their apprenticeship training and technical accreditations through assessing their competence against national occupational standards and providing constructive feedback. The role with also involve liaising with businesses and support them through the onboarding process of new employees on the pathway to enrolling on our apprenticeship programmes and to ensure candidates gain experience they need to meet requirements of their qualifications.
The majority of assessments conducted will be based at the learners’ normal place of work, therefore this role will involve a great deal of travelling. A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for business use is essential.
Industrial experience in Vehicle Body Repair and Vehicle Paint Refinishing and knowledge of the relevant national occupational standards is essential for this post, as is the ability to work to strict deadlines. Applicants should be qualified to HNC (SCQF Level 7), Modern Apprenticeship or SVQ level 3 or equivalent level of qualification, in an appropriate field. Applicants will be in possession of, working towards, or willing to work towards a relevant formal assessor qualification (L&D 9 and /or L&D 11).
The role will be based at our Motherwell Campus, although you may be required to work at any campus depending on the department’s requirements.
