INTERNAL/EXTERNAL VACANCY

Electronics and Electrical Technician (Ref A983)
Full Time/Permanent/Altens Campus & ETZ Skills Hub
Salary:  £38,442.62 - £41,444.62 per annum 

We are seeking a highly organised and conscientious individual to provide technical support for staff, learners and external clients, primarily in Electrical & Electronics engineering within our technical support team. 

This role will also support activities in the new ETZ Skills Hub which is due to open in the 3rd quarter of 2025, adjacent to the NESCol Altens Campus.

Candidates should have strong technical knowledge of Electronic & Electrical practices as well as the ability to work on their own initiative, collaborate and engage with the teaching teams and be adaptable to planning workloads and using online electronic procurement systems.  

The ability to meet regular deadlines within a customer focused environment is an essential quality in undertaking this busy and varied role.  

Candidates should have experience of providing high quality support with a proven ability of fault finding to component level within industry or the education sector. We are looking for candidates to hold an HNC (or equivalent) qualification in electronic engineering or relevant equivalent industry experience.   

Knowledge of the technology used in a learning environment would be desirable but is not necessary. Some heavy manual handling is to be expected in this role.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Graduate of HNC Electronic & Electrical Engineering or equivalent (SCQF Level 7).
2. Evidence of continuous professional development


EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE

1. Strong technical knowledge of Electronic Engineering procedures and techniques.
2. Experience of diagnosing and repairing faults to component level in a variety of Electronic systems.
3. Experience of providing high quality support within an Electronic / Electrical and / or educational environment.
