Application Stage
If you are interested in working for us please click ‘apply now’ on the job. This will take you through to the application portal. All applications are made through myjobscotland and we do not accept CVs.
All of our advertised roles have a job description and a person specification. Applicants should review these prior to applying for the job. Whilst completing your application you will need to evidence you meet, at a minimum, the essential criteria within our person specification.
All applications close at 23:59 on the job advert’s closing date. Once you submit your application you will receive an email acknowledgement of application via myjobscotland. You can also log onto myjobscotland to track your application status.
After the role closes our hiring manager/s review all applications and shortlist based on the application received. Once this process is completed we provide an email update to all applicants informing the outcome of the application and advising if you have been invited to interview
If you receive any difficulties during the application process please contact HR@west-lothian.ac.uk and a member of the team can support you further.
Interview Stage
If successful at the application stage you will receive an email invite to an interview.
The interview will involve a panel explaining more about the role, asking both competency and values-based questions as well as giving you the opportunity to ask them questions. There may also be a task, for example, a presentation. We will let you know in advance if this is the case.
Post-Interview
After the interview, we will provide an update to all candidates to let them know the outcome. We can provide candidates specific feedback at this stage regarding the outcome of the interview.
