About myjobscotland

myjobscotland is, unarguably, the most successful public-sector jobs portal in the UK, saving its client organisations £multi-millions every year since our inception in 2008. Now celebrating 16 years as one of Scotland's most used shared services, it is estimated we have saved the taxpayer over £304 million compared to the previous advertising costs of Scottish Councils.

Based within, and part of, COSLA (the Convention of Scottish Local Authorities), we’ve expanded from our original focus on Scotland’s 32 local councils to become the recruitment medium of choice for over 1800 different organisations, from schools, colleges and universities to the fire & rescue, adult and childcare. All these organisations have access to unique candidate audience of over 1.5 million registered candidates – more than half of Scotland’s workforce.

The Role

We are now looking for someone to join our team, as an Apprentice in Digital Applications where you will have the opportunity to gain a diploma in Digital Applications (SCQF6). This role is a combination of digital systems, customer services and social media marketing. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing support to candidates and customers of myjobscotland.

Due to funding limitations relating to the qualification, we can only consider applicants aged between 16 and 24.

You will be the first point of contact for enquiries and will work closely with our small team to ensure efficient communication and that support queries are answered within our SLAs.

As part of your diploma, you will have the opportunity to support a variety of projects within the team, such as:

  • Developing the website content
  • Improving the advertiser portal
  • Creating and posting content across our social media accounts
  • Assisting customer adoption of video software in job adverts

The nature of this role is hybrid and can include a mixture of working from home and from the COSLA office based in Edinburgh. This is a fixed position of 15 months.
