Salary: £31,060 - £34,454 (SCP 49, SCP 53, SCP 57)

Contract: Fixed Term (24 Month)

Working Hours: 35 Hours per week (Flexible) or possible job share

The post-holder will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and overall operational upkeep of the HI-BIKE eBike share scheme, including both the bike fleet and charging docks in Inverness and Fort William as well as other sites in future. This will involve performing regular maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repairs to ensure the bikes and charging stations are safe, reliable, and fully operational. The post-holder will also assist in the rebalancing of the fleet, which includes relocating eBikes to various charging stations across the region.

This role is workshop-based in Inverness at Railway Terrace, with regular travel required to various other locations across the HITRANS region, including Fort William, to carry out on-site maintenance, inspections and repairs. Overnight stays may be required to support maintenance work at remote locations.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience as a bicycle mechanic, or in a similar role such as vehicle or motorcycle mechanics, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems, electronics, and battery-powered systems. The post-holder will also be expected to undertake additional tasks as needed to support the ongoing development and promotion of the HI-BIKE scheme.

Applicants should have CyTech Level 2 bicycle mechanics training or equivalent and a Full Driving Licence.
