About the role:

LEAD Scotland is a national charity that has supported disabled people and carers by providing personalised learning, befriending, advice and information services for more than 45 years. LEAD provides SQA accredited Learning Services, provides a National Disabled Students Helpline and supports Befriending Services as well as involvement in Policy work.

With our current CEO stepping down after 10 years, we are seeking a replacement to guide Lead Scotland into its future.

About you:

We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and person-centered strategic leader who can:

  1. Engage with senior policy makers, service providers, and organisational leaders across Scotland, working together to improve lifelong, life-wide opportunities for disabled people and unpaid carers seeking to live their best lives.
  2. Lead an organisation into the next stage of its own growth and development, ensuring that its financial security, asset management and risk appraisal is planned, maintained and enhanced.
  3. Take overall responsibility for achieving and monitoring performance against targets in all areas of the charity’s activities and ensure an effective internal infrastructure providing transparent reporting to the Team, Board and other stakeholders.
  4. Work with a strong team in the context of a well-developed person-centred, kind, respectful, and very effective team culture which supports the growth and development of its people.
  5. Work in a long-established and well-respected adult learning organisation as we head towards a half-century of working with communities across Scotland.

Critically, you will be an expert communicator, have strong leadership skills, be a strategic and forward thinker and have an in-depth understanding of disability issues.
