Risk Management Authority
The Risk Management Authority (RMA) is a Non Departmental Public Body established in 2005 by the Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2003, and sponsored by the Scottish Government Community Justice Division.
Our duties focus on ensuring that robust risk assessment and risk management practices are in place to reduce the risk of serious harm posed by violent and sexual offenders. We promote effective practice through working closely with partners across the criminal justice system in Scotland; drawing evidence from national and international research and development programmes to advance a shared framework approach.
