Water is essential to life and to the communities in which we live and work across every corner of Scotland. At Scottish Water we’re focused on delivering the highest quality drinking water ever in Scotland and returning waste water safely to the environment every day of the year.



We’re proud of the fact that our customers – more than 2.4 million households in cities, towns and villages and over 150,000 businesses – are now receiving better service, continual improvements while the average charge is more than £50 a year lower than in the rest of Great Britain.



Scottish Water has come a long way since we were formed in 2002. Today we are a high performing business in Scotland employing thousands of people, from scientists, field operatives, maintenance staff to customer service professionals and engineers.



It’s our ambition to be Scotland’s most valued and trusted business as we work to put our customers at the heart of everything we do. Every year we are investing about £500 million pounds to improve the quality of life across all of Scotland.



We have a clear business plan for the future and a strong leadership team. We lead the way in many areas - for example setting industry standards in renewable energy - including our modern low carbon new office to serve the west of Scotland, our anaerobic energy plant and our energy creating turbines in our water pipes.
