West Dunbartonshire Council is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and skilled Early Learning Childcare Officer into our Our Lady of Loretto Primary School Early Learning and Childcare Centre.
Staff will work contracted hours to meet the needs of the service. The main duties of the post are: to contribute to the provision of a safe, caring and stimulating nursery environment for all children; to contribute and implement a relevant curriculum in line with national and local guidance; to plan, record, implement and evaluate suitable programmes of activities; to maintain and record children’s assessment progress and to promote parental participation.
It is essential you have experience of working with pre five children in a relevant setting and have knowledge of Curriculum of Excellence (early level) and pre-birth to three year old guidance. You should be flexible in your approach and have the ability to adapt to change. Candidates must hold the NNEB (or modular equivalent), or HNC in Childhood Practice, or SVQ2 Social Services (Children and Young People) or SVQ3 in Social Services (Children and Young
People).
Successful candidates, if not already registered with SSSC as practitioners, will be required to gain this within 3 months of the date of your appointment.
Requirements
This post is considered as Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 and as such membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further details of this scheme can be found here.
Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
